Iraq's foreign minister said today that the country's security forces were overstretched trying to control violence in Baghdad and warned of all-out civil war if American forces leave, as many in Congress are demanding.
The minister, Hoshyar Zebari, made his comments at a wide-ranging news conference in which he also insisted that Prime Minister Nouri Maliki's Shiite Muslim-led government remains stable.
There is no doubt that if American troops leave quickly, there will be a larger war.
